Pharmaceutical Worker

I am 44 years old and, following an original diagnosis of Stage III Grade III ER+ve Breast Cancer in 2018 was diagnosed with MBC in March 2021. I am working full-time at present. I work in pharma and am currently working on a programme to raise awareness of how better to support and offer hope to colleagues touched by cancer.

There is a lack of awareness and understanding around what someone diagnosed with ABC goes through. People assume that all chemotherapy will make your hair fall out, that you will be sick and unable to work, etc. The majority of people do not know how to talk to someone with ABC. More needs to be done from a legislation perspective to protect an individual who still wants to work and retain normality.
