I was and still do work in sales, person-to-person, selling jewellery and beauty products, but these days I only work if I feel OK.

Following my diagnosis of ABC, I managed to keep my long-term clients but, for a while, when I lost my hair, I couldn’t work. I went away from the whole thing but then, when I felt better, I was able to go house-to-house selling jewellery again.

I like the feeling of work now. I know how to spend money now and I’m very grateful for being alive now.

I have a lot of friends who have supported me in my decision to work, especially those that are in the same business. They have helped me with work and got me food when I haven’t been feeling well. My family is very grateful for this and the experience has brought us all closer together.

I think it’s important for people with my diagnosis to return to work because it gives us strength and dignity. When we have cancer and carry out our jobs, we do it even better and with more love.
