I worked as a RN for about 40 years prior to not working, due to side effects of my metastatic breast cancer of a PE and TIA. I would love to work, but fatigue won't allow for my 7-on, 7-off, on-call schedule as a hospice nurse. I was diagnosed in 2015 de novo with bone mets to one site right iliac crest and have been NEAD since March 2016.

If I could supplement my SSD with some type of nursing and have it not affect my benefits it would allow for a better living situation. It has been difficult during the pandemic; where others are getting extra allowances, those of us on SSD with a terminal disease get no assistance. For a nurse who worked about 40 years and put into the system, it has now failed me.

The side effects of the treatment of ABC (metastatic breast cancer) have caused so much change in my physical, emotional, social and economic health and there isn't anything I can do about it.
